Unedited soundwalk through the Arts & Crafts Festival in Millville, New Jersey. Listening to this recording nearly a year later has sparked a desire to do more of this type of ambling. I like that the sounds come and go at walking speed and that I didn't know what I would stumble onto beforehand. In effect, I was creating and editing the recording by how I walked, where I lingered, and where I pointed my recorder. Most of the sounds are musical, both live and canned. The only musican I was familiar with is the Blues player near the beginning, 10-year old Billy the Kid, who busks on 3rd Fridays there. He rocks for any age, but at 10 is pretty amazing. Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised by the musicians and songs I discovered along the way. Especially the last band, an unknown trio I found in an alleyway. Their "Just a Song" was the highlight of my walk and seemed a logical place to end the recording because the rest of it was just me walking back past the same bands and places. I did not realize this was made on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 until I uploaded it to bandcamp. Recorded with a Sony D-50 recorder, no editing or level adjustment were made to the original recording.
