"blur" is a matrix of bowed psaltery loops arranged by happenstance.
Field recordings of a local stream and an accidental kalimba loop.
This piece was leftover from the Bent Notions sessions. It was improvised using only the black keys of a circuit bent casio sk1 and was inspired by the music of John Luther Adams.
Watching the leaves turn and fall, I've been feeling the need to simplify and pare back. I think I'm going to focus on acoustic music for awhile. Traditional kantele tunes are usually only a few bars long which the player repeats and embellishes. I've been playing my own kantele tunes for years, but I've never been good at writing them down or recording them. So now seems like a perfect time to do that. I recorded this to preserve the idea, but it sounds pretty good as is.
